Our Purpose

The Postsecondary Education Network-International (PEN-International), a multinational partnership of colleges and universities worldwide, was created in 2001 through grants funded by The Nippon Foundation of Japan. Its goal is to improve and expand postsecondary education for deaf and hard-of-hearing students around the world by sharing educational technology and conducting faculty development and training, particularly in developing countries.

April 2009

On 27-29 April, Director DeCaro visited Patra University in Greece where he had been invited to be a guest lecturer to the students of the Deaf Education Program





On 21-23 April, Executive Director Ono participated in a PEN-Russia business meeting.





February 2009

On 19 February, Director James J. DeCaro of PEN-International had a virtual meeting, through videoconferencing technology, with Rector Fedorov and Professor Stanevsky of Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Minister A. Fursenko, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation





On 15 February, a presentation on "Metaphor in Time and Space Haiku Poetry" took place at the Mineral Point Opera House in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
